Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Sleuthy (“the Service”), operated by Royal Wave Media, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, subscribing, purchasing a product, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Sleuthy is a web-based audiobook project discovery platform for working narrators. Sleuthy surfaces and ranks audiobook casting opportunities from publicly available sources, lets you save listings to a personal private list, and provides search and ranking tools to help you find work efficiently.

Sleuthy also operates a store that sells one-time digital products (training materials, contract templates, a project tracker spreadsheet), a free newsletter, and a free public PFH-vs-Royalty-Share calculator. Each of those components is described below.

Sleuthy is a discovery tool. We are not party to any contract, audition, or commercial arrangement between you and a third party. We do not negotiate, sign, or enforce contracts on your behalf.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to access the subscription or to make a store purchase. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Each person or business should maintain only one account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes related to audiobook narration and production. You may not:

• Use the Service for any illegal activity
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users’ data or accounts
• Upload malicious files, viruses, or harmful code
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its content (including listing data, Lead Scores, the rankings, the algorithm output, the store products, or any derivative of them) without our written permission
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or bulk-export listing data, Lead Score data, store product content, or any other content from the Service
• Share your account credentials with other people. Your subscription is for your individual use.
• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or abuse any other party

4. Subscription

Sleuthy offers a single subscription tier at $15 per month (USD), with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.

Billing. Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Your card is charged at the start of each billing period.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time using the “Cancel Subscription” button on your Account page. No email, phone call or request to us is required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period; you continue to have access until that date. No hoops, no hidden fees. If the button ever fails to work for you, email us at support@getsleuthy.com and we will cancel it for you.

Pausing. As an alternative to cancelling, you may pause your subscription from your Account page. Pausing stops future charges while keeping your account and saved searches intact, and you may resume at any time. Pausing is optional and is never a substitute for cancelling: cancellation is always available to you directly, including while your subscription is paused.

Refunds. We do not generally offer refunds for partial billing periods, since you can cancel at any time and continue to have access through the end of the period you have already paid for. If you believe your circumstances warrant a refund, contact us at support@getsleuthy.com and we will review the request in good faith.

Pricing changes. We may change the subscription price from time to time. Any price change will not apply to your current paid billing period. We will notify you of any price change at least 30 days before it takes effect on your subscription.

Trial conversion. If you start a 7-day free trial and do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription converts to a paid subscription and your card is charged at the standard monthly rate. You can cancel at any time during the trial from your Account page.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we will attempt to charge the card again and may restrict access to the Service until payment succeeds. If we cannot collect payment after a reasonable retry window, the subscription will be cancelled.

5. Store purchases

Sleuthy sells the following one-time digital products through the store. These are not subscription features and can be purchased without a subscription.

Audiobook Success Matrix

A training video and companion ebook on judging audiobook viability. Sold as a one-time digital download/access purchase.

Audiobook Contracts Bundle

A bundle of contract templates (Licensing, Narration with PFH / Royalty Share / Hybrid, Production, Co-Author, Co-Narrator, Non-Audio Royalty Share, in US and UK versions) plus a user guide. Sold as a one-time digital download.

Project Tracker spreadsheet

A template spreadsheet for tracking auditions and gigs. Sold as a one-time digital download.

Licensing of store products

Store products are licensed for your personal or business use. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, repackage, or share the products with third parties. The Audiobook Contracts Bundle may be used to draft contracts with specific named counterparties in the ordinary course of your business; you may not redistribute the templates themselves to other narrators, publishers, or third parties.

Refunds on store products

Because store products are digital downloads delivered immediately on purchase, sales are generally final. If you believe a product is defective or was not as described, contact us at support@getsleuthy.com within 30 days of purchase and we will review the request in good faith.

6. The free calculator

The PFH-vs-Royalty-Share calculator at https://getsleuthy.com/calculator.php is provided as a free public utility, with no warranty as to accuracy or fitness for any particular purpose. The calculator is intended as an informational tool only and does not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. Do not rely on it as your sole basis for any binding commercial decision.

7. The newsletter

The Sleuthy newsletter is a free email publication. You may subscribe and unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by contacting us. We do not share newsletter subscriber lists with third parties.

8. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service immediately or on notice if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive conduct, pose a security risk to the Service or other users, or if suspension or termination is necessary to comply with applicable law.

If we terminate your account for breach, you remain responsible for any charges accrued before termination. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We may, at our discretion, allow a reasonable opportunity to download previously purchased one-time products before access is cut off, except where prohibited by law or where doing so would compromise security or another user’s rights.

You may also close your account at any time by contacting us at support@getsleuthy.com. Account closure is subject to the data retention terms in our Privacy Policy.

9. Your content and intellectual property

Your content. Any content you contribute to the Service (notes saved against listings, support messages, personal leads list entries, feedback flags on listings) remains your intellectual property. We do not claim any ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your content as necessary to operate the Service.

Sleuthy’s platform content. The Service itself (the application code, user interface, design, branding, copy, the Lead Score algorithm and its outputs, listing rankings, the store products, the calculator, the newsletter, and all original content we produce) is the property of Royal Wave Media, Inc. and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any of it without our written permission, except where granted explicitly in these Terms (for example, using the Audiobook Contracts Bundle templates with specific named counterparties as described in Section 5).

De-identified aggregated use. You also grant us the right to use your activity data in de-identified, aggregated form for statistical analyses, using measures reasonably designed to prevent re-identification. See Section 7 of our Privacy Policy for full details.

10. Service availability

We strive to keep Sleuthy available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance.

11. Limitation of liability

Sleuthy is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the Service or the information it surfaces. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
• Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
• We are not liable for the outcome of any audition, contract, or commercial arrangement that you enter into as a result of information surfaced by the Service. You are responsible for verifying the suitability, terms, and counterparties of any work you take on.
• We are not liable for the accuracy of listing information sourced from third-party platforms. Listings are presented as found; we do not verify rate quotes, project status, or rightsholder claims.
• We are not liable for any legal, financial, or tax outcome resulting from your use of the Audiobook Contracts Bundle, the Audiobook Success Matrix, the Project Tracker spreadsheet, the PFH-vs-Royalty-Share calculator, or any other Sleuthy product. These are tools, not advice.

The exclusions and limitations in this section apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for breaches of our data protection or confidentiality obligations.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Royal Wave Media, Inc., its owner, and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your infringement of any third-party rights, or your use of the Audiobook Contracts Bundle, the Audiobook Success Matrix, the Project Tracker spreadsheet, or the calculator in your own commercial dealings. This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any right to a jury trial in connection with any dispute arising under these Terms.
