Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Sleuthy.

Sleuthy is an audiobook project discovery platform built for indie narrators and producers. We scan thousands of books, score them for audiobook potential, and give you the tools to find, evaluate, and track promising projects.

Sleuthy is $15/month with a 1-week free trial. You can cancel any time with one button on your Account page. No hoops, no hidden fees.

The Lead Score is a 0–100 rating we assign to each book based on factors like sales rank, review count, genre fit, and whether the book already has an audiobook. Higher scores indicate stronger opportunities. Green (70+) means strong, amber (40–69) means moderate, and red (below 40) means proceed with caution.

You can save up to 100 leads at a time. You can remove leads at any point to make room for new ones.

Yes. Go to Add a Book and paste the ASIN, or just the Amazon web address if that is easier. If Sleuthy already has the book it goes straight into your leads. If it does not, Sleuthy fetches it from Amazon, scores it the same way it scores everything else, and adds it to your leads, usually within a couple of minutes. Occasionally a book is one we have but have not checked over yet: in that case we move it to the front of the queue because you asked, and it goes into your leads automatically once it passes. You can add up to 10 books a day.

No. A book you add is yours alone. It goes into your leads and nowhere else: not into Sleuthy's search results, and not into anyone else's leads. Nobody else can see that you added it.

Sleuthy tells you, and does not add it to your leads. This is often the most useful thing the feature does, because it is the one question worth answering before you spend an evening writing a pitch.

It is on the Amazon product page, under Product details, and it is ten characters long, usually starting with a B. You do not have to hunt for it though. You can paste the whole Amazon web address into the Add a Book box instead and Sleuthy will pull the ASIN out for you.

It compares Per Finished Hour (PFH) deals with Royalty Share (RS) deals for a specific book. Enter the word count, your rate, and estimated sales, and it shows you which deal makes more financial sense, including breakeven points and a plain-English verdict.

Our backend engine scrapes and updates book data regularly. When you view a book, you'll see the "Date Last Updated" field showing when we last refreshed that record.

Yes! On any book detail page, you'll see a feedback form where you can flag books as having an audiobook, being a dead lead, having rights issues, or other problems. This helps keep the database clean for the whole community.

We use Stripe for billing, which accepts all major credit and debit cards. Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

Log in, go to your Account page, and click "Cancel Subscription." That is the whole process. You will not be charged again, and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you would rather take a break than leave, "Pause Subscription" on the same page stops the billing and keeps your account, and you can resume whenever you like.

Click "Forgot your password?" on the login page. Enter your email address and we'll send you a reset link (valid for 1 hour).
